Hackers Declare War Against PayPal

The hacker groups by the name of Anonymous and LulzSec have launched a war against the San Jone based online payment service PayPal. This declaration came after several arrests of the group’s members and PayPal’s refusal to handle financial transaction of Wikileaks.

Recently Anonymous’s spokesman was arrested by cops and this move by the group is seen as a response for that arrest. Anonymous has asked several of its followers and fans to boycott PayPal and to immediately quit their accounts from the E-Commerce giant.

PayPal is owned by eBay and has allegedly helped Law Enforcement agencies to track down hackers. PayPal is the largest E-Commerce company with more than 10 million customers. It froze the account of whistleblower site Wikileaks after later began publishing confidential and classified data of the United States.

This operation is carried out by AntiSec, a collaboration of Anonymous and LulzSec. An unknown member of Anonymous said that,”The first step to being truly free is not putting one’s trust into a company that freezes accounts when it feels like, or when it is pressured by the U.S. government”.

If this movement gathers pace, it may bring down PayPal too and furthermore we can’t be sure that Anonymous will do only peaceful protest without hacking PayPal’s website.
