Well, the title says it all. The delay in the launch of new models of BlackBerry and poor sales performance has affected RIM’s share prices. The new models of BlackBerry, which were first scheduled to be launched in the first quarter of 2012, will now be launched in late 2012. These handsets will be running on the new QNX operating system and according to RIM, it will give the iOS and Android a run for their money.
Frankly, we don’t expect much from Research in Motion at this stage. The company hasn’t got any revolutionary product at the time and it is just making announcements to save its neck. RIM has lost a large number of its trustworthy customers in a very short duration. Once dubbed as the pioneer in smartphone sector, BlackBerry has lost its shine.
According to several media reports, RIM is struggling with its top leadership and there are a lot of people who want to change the management structure from the grass root level to the top-most position. Unlike most of the companies, RIM has 2 CEOs, Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie and this is one of the reasons behind the anguish of investors and other people associated with the company.
No doubt, RIM’s products are great but the poor management of these tech wonders by officials is the primary reason behind the shift of users from RIM to the iPhone and Android based handsets.
