Xbox Addiction Claims A Life

A 20 year old guy Chris Staniforth died because of pulmonary embolism, which occurs if someone sits in the same position for a very long duration of time. According to his family, Chris died after following a marathon session on his Xbox.

Chris’s father said that his son normally spent upto 12 hours playing on his Xbox. He further stated that,”He got sucked in playing Halo online against people from all over the world.”

This is not the first time that a gamer has lost his life due to excessive playing. These type of news are commonly heard throughout Asia. In the past, a South Korean gamer had died after 3 days of non stop online gaming in 2005.

Online computer games have become an addiction now a days. Various games are available on the Internet which can be played with other players from all over the globe.

Though these games are pretty good, but addiction of anything is always bad. Obesity and lack of interest in other pursuits of daily life are the common diseases that are found in gaming addicts.

Our take on this is that games should be considered as games only. They should not become the target of a person’s life. There is a real life beside virtual one which is the most beautiful gift of the god almighty.
