Fake Apple stores were raided by Chinese authorities following a cry out in news forums about fake Apple stores being operated in China. These stores resemble real ones so much that a large number of customers were purchasing their items.
Some of these stores claim that though they are not real outlets of Apple Inc., their products are real and are bought from genuine Apple dealers.
Officials found that there were 5 fake Apple stores being operated in a city called Kunming. Authorities banned two of them to operate and the remaining were allowed to sell their products as no fake Apple products were found in their stores.
These fake stores were being reported since the last week in various news forums. Officials claim that they have inspected around 500 stores in the district and only 5 were found to violate the Apple norms.
Chinese retailers have often been alleged with piracy issues. China is the world’s largest electronic goods manufacturer as well as consumer. Each and every single electronic item has a cheap replica available in China.
Now, Apple has not commented on any of these news. But seeing Apple’s past experience with piracy issues, it is almost certain that it will take a strict action against such stores.
