Microsoft has decided to provide handset manufacturers with its latest Windows Phone OS, codenamed Mango. This move has been made so that manufacturers could test and then deploy it in their handsets.
This can be seen as the final field trial before the OS rolls out in the market. This version has long been rumored to be the best Windows Phone OS from Microsoft. It is worth noting that Microsoft has recently made a deal with Nokia, according to which the American giant will provide its Windows Mobile platform for the Finish companies future handsets.
This news was first seen on official Windows Phone blog which read as,“This marks the point in the development process where we hand code to our handset and mobile operator partners to optimize Mango for their specific phone and network configurations. Here on the Windows Phone team, we now turn to preparing for the update process.”
Our opinion on this move is that this is the last chance Microsoft has to cash its Windows Mobile Platform. Previous version of its Mobile OS did very poor business. They were not able to survive in the mainstream market. Though Microsoft has made a deal with Nokia, but it is unlikely to boost its sales as Nokia itself is facing crisis at this time.
We’ll keep you posted on this.
